Reports say at least 23 people have been killed and thousands injured in xenophobic attacks in South Africa in recent weeks.
Ghanaians in South Africa say up to five Ghanaians have been killed so far.
The attacks are believed to be instigated by unemployed South Africans who blame foreigners mostly for their woes.
South African authorities have arrested about 40 people and are considering deploying the army unto the streets to deal with the situation.
Meanwhile President Thabo Mbeki has condemned the violence and called on immigrants to remain calm.
Some commentators have suggested that the recent attacks in the “rainbow country” clearly show that Africa can never unite.
But what do you think of the attacks and how it affects the Africa Unity agenda?
