In a survival situation would you eat human flesh to stay alive?

The northern regional Police command is getting ready to arraign before court, a 25 year old farmer who killed his brother over a disagreement and ate his flesh for supper.
The young man who is believed to be sane explained to the Police in his caution statement that he ate his brother’s body because he needed food to survive overnight. He also explained that other parts of the body including the Penis and testicles which were found in his possession were for future consumption.
But it is not unheard of for humans to eat the flesh of other humans just to survive. Mothers are known to have eaten their children in order to stay alive and friends lost on mountains are known to have done same to a dead one.
As gory as this may sound, consider it for a moment.
If you were shipwrecked on an island and your only friend with you died, would you eat his/ her flesh to survive or wait for death to come your way?

i will never eat a human flesh…i rather will like to die than to engage myself in such an act. God forbid bad thing.
This is inhuman and barbaric. Under no circumctance would I in a survival situation eat human flesh. For what, I would rather go hungry and die than eating a fellow human’s flesh.
But Kojo, this is not the first time such a case has happened. There is a similar case in the law books to which references have been made in subsequent adjudications
i will wait for death rather than eating human flesh for survival.
In this part of our world, eating human flesh is unusual and something unheard of. but in other cultures, there is nothing wrong with people eating their own kind.we know of animals such as dogs and cats eating their young ones especially just after birth.a lot of postulations has been given to this phenomena.while some say it is because such animals are starving after going through bouts of labor,others are of the view that it is natural that one or two young babies are fed on so that their mothers may be able to deliver next time. cannibalism may be permitted in the animal kingdom but not in human milieu.
kojo,even in war situations where survival is of necessity, people do not eat their fellow beings.no matter how human flesh tastes, i cannot for the life of me,eat it. i would rather eat unknown leaves or something else to survive.

It is an awful news never the less it is not surprising. Just look at what happened to the twins at Tsito. What about the butchered stories of women in the hand of their husbands/fiance

Kojo why should I eat Human flesh? Whether I eat it or not, I will surely die some days to come so. I wil never venture.

eating your fellow human flesh is unacceptable and whoever does this must burn in the hotest part of hell or even if God should pardon such a fellow, he should rest in the warmest part of heaven and be fined. this is the worst thing to happen to any society. The notion of eating my best friend to survive -though gory- isn’t a far off reach for me.
If I was trapped somewhere with my friend waiting for rescue and my friend died I would eat my friend in order to survive as well as if I died I’d hope my friend would do the same to me.
To put it plainly, there is no sense in two people dying when could survive.
Besides, who knows, it may taste like chicken.

I sure hope I get stranded with all you here, I would dive in to your flesh and have a hell of a story to tell when I live and you all die.
Dont get me wrong, that would be the last step I would take to survive, but I would not die just because my will to survive is weak…this is humans “eww” factor, somebody down your ancestral line HAS eatin human because it was a way of life back then, now we walk into a starbucks and order an iced soy green tea latte topped with carmel and cocoa.
Everybody here that says no, is a weak person and should be washed from the human race…oh and “god forbid” is not a logical reason, if god put you there, thats a pretty shitty god right? nobody I would want to “praise” too. Religion is just another reason humans are weak, but thats a different story.
