Will ballot positions have any impact on the elections?

October 23, 2008

Many of the political aspirants have attributed many meanings to their positions on the ballot after Tuesday’s exciting picking exercise.

While the NPP’s number 1 position was attributed to party slogan “we are moving forward”, NDC’s number 3 was given a spiritual meaning; the Biblical Trinity. The DFP’s middle or fourth position proclaims their star will shine in the middle and DPP’s number 5 was also attributed to perfection further explaining why we have five fingers and five toes.

The CPP however paid little attention to its number six position rather concentrating on effective campaign while Kwesi Amoafo-Yeboah, the independent presidential candidate (IND) who did not partake in the balloting assumed the eighth position willy-nilly.

Well the EC has also explained that candidates’ positions on the ballot paper would be used for parliamentary candidates as well.

Considering all these meanings attributed to ballot positions you might want to know whether or not they influence the voter’s decision.

Will electorates vote for candidates because they are on top, in the middle, at the bottom or located else where?

Tell me, will ballot positions have any impact on the elections?

So what do you think?

believe me kodjo, the positions will not influence in any way. if my standard of living is better than before, why should i vote the npp out. on the contrary it makes no sense voting for the npp because they are first on the ballot paper. with this untold hardship on am facing am preapared at anytime to vote this arrogant, selfish and greedy party out of power

Kojo why do u think NPP wants to assume the first position because over there it is easy for the electorate to locate them and even ignorant voters can even mistakenly give them their vote.but for the NDC their third position to me is questionable because if they don’t take ker they will go home for the third time.

IT WILL DO US A LITTLE GOOD BUT ALL PARTIES SHOULD WATCH THE ONE WHO WILL BE GIVING OUT THE BOLLAT PAPERS. BECAUSE I HAVE SEEN IT BEFORE. SOME GIVES OUT TWO OR THREE WHEN THEY MAKE SOME SIGN.
