Should oil Prices go down?

October 23, 2008

The reduction of crude oil prices on the international market substantially has stimulated a lot reactions and expectations. Many Ghanaians due to this look forward to a reduction in petrol prices sooner or later.

Some reports disclosed that the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) and other oil trading companies made some losses during the peak of the world energy crisis between May 3 and August 31, 2008.

Although the crude oil prices on the international market have gone the NPA and the government cannot promise a reduction in petrol prices due to losses made earlier. It is also believed that due to earlier reduction there were some losses and maintenance in prices would be a better decision although to the dismay of others.

So tell me what you think.

Oil prices on the international market has fallen more than 50%, so won’t be bad to give some relief to our people. Help bring the stress down by bring the price down for our people.

As the world turns, we should also turn with it. Oils prices are falling like never before. Therfore we should cut down our prices too. OPEC is so scared now due to the current status of the world economy so they want to cut down production. The oil prices should fall accordingly with the international market prices.

No! Oil prices should rather go up.
