Why do serial callers do what they do?
October 28, 2008
If you haven’t noticed, there are some particular callers who every morning express themselves on the super morning show and as if that is not enough, they call other morning shows. Why? My question to one of them and funny enough his response was that I am a serial presenter as well and this he said was because i spoke on radio every morning, so why couldn’t he?
These serial callers as we have come to know them were in our studios today. I couldn’t help but ask them why and this time I got some answers out of them as hoped for.
In response they expressed their great desire to contribute to the progression of this country. They went on to say that like every one else they have a quota to contribute to Ghana. Our seriall callers believe that their contributions definitely have an impact on Ghana with respect to development. In their effort to promote democracy and give their choice political parties a face lift. “Say it loud” is how they can achieve this.
While some identified themselves with NDC, the rest identified with the NPP. Are they working for the se parties or have they been paid to call radio stations to defend their parties? Well they boldy denied being hired by or woking for their choice parties but confirmed that they had indeed received gifts from many people including some party members who thought they were doing a heck of a good job, however reiterating their love for Ghana at every step.
How different is receiving tokens of apppreciation from being paid to do a job from taking bribes? You know you can receive money later for a favour done and call it a token right? Is this the case of reverse psychology? Are we taking bribes and calling them gifts?
Once again I ask, why do serial callers do what they do?
You tell me what you think.

Got something to say?

Purely armchair politics is what draws serial callers. Ask them what they would if they happened to be in power and they would begin to stutter and choke like an old train engine. For some this may have become the only means of venting therby enabling them to take the heat off whatever is happening in their personal life. Lets just say it is another form of therapy without having to go see a shrink.
i can tell you that most people who call everyday are paid to do that.kojo,i struggle to get a my call going through whenever there is a radio programme.it costs 3000 to send a txt message to JOY Fm.it costs to make a call to these stations and yet we have people who have money enough to make calls everyday and send txt messages at every programme.if they work for such monies they’ll know that its expensive for a week, month and a year.kojo,do the arithmetic.if a minute is 1000.please serial callers be truthful!!!
Serial callers arre paid. initially they were not but when the politicians notice how influential they are they started organising and paying them. I have witness a situation where these NPP politician confessed to a colleague that they should still continue taken good care of these serial callers becuase they are very important to them NPP. They are rewarded in various ways. What do u think gave Appeah stadium the impectus to make all those allegation he did make during the World Cup and even called Komla Dumor a fool. Lets be reallistc Ghanaians. The obvious question i would be asked is that do u i have evidence.
Well Kojo, serial callers are people who have the urge to voice their views on the national scene. They want to be known by the general public as well as the radio station staff. People should call but it should not be every single morning. That I think is a little bit excessive.
Mr. Kojo, I can assure you that Politricians capitalise on anything to achieve their aim. These so-called serial callers are explioted with little gifts ,money and unfulfiled promises to fix them doing what they know best .I can describe some of these callers as politically scarttred roots who are sometimes ignorantly explioted for political gains.
Serial callers do what they do because most radio programmes have been cheapened by uninformed presenters and the so-called social commentators.
