I will want each of the candidates to tell us how they will ensure that the laws on the land are adhered to. For instance, I want to know what they will do about enpowering A.M.A. to enforce they laws on noice making, and the laws of hawking on the streets. I believe the challenge we have a country now is our lack of discipline and the leaders who are supposed to ensure the laws are enforced have failed to do that.

I want the presidential candidates to talk on Homosexuality. What is their respective position on this.

I also want to know if they believe that it is a persons right to decide to either be a homosextual or not.

    Best Regards,

KOJO, I WISH THIS KIND OF PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE, SHD ALSO BE HELD IN OUR LOCAL LANGUAGE. IT GIVES OPPORTUNITY TO THOSE IN OUR SOCIETY WHO DON’T UNDERSTAND ENGLISH LANGUAGE TO HAVE A FAIR SHARE OF INFORMATION OUR CANDIDATES WANT TO PUT ACCROSS.

If the NPP gov’t couldn’t in 8years inprove education but wobbled at it eventually making senior high school 4 years without improvement in facilities, changing teacher training syllabuses eratically and public universities overchocked with more than half the population of 1st and 2nd year students in chemistry standing at corridors to listen to lectures, can we trust the NPP again on their promises? Why does Nana think he would behave differently? Secondly did Nana second the sale of GT ? Let him tell Ghanaians in the face that he did.

    Question1-
Given the size of government, which is obviously large, what would you do (give specifcs including actual optimal number of appointees) to have a leaner and more efficient government?

    Question 2,
The Law on Declaration of assets obviously needs strengthening, would you favour the position that all ministers including their spouses and nuclear family members declare assets publicly before going into office and after leaving office?

    Question 3
Can you quantify and qualify the scale of corruption in Ghana and then outline specific measures that you would take to combat corruption; excluding specifically what the previous administration has done?

    Question 4,
We know that the continued dependence of our country on foreign donor inflows curtails the exercise of our sovereignty, what would you do to curtail this dependence and within what time horizon?

    Question 5
What would you do that no politician would do because that may be the right thing to do but will be unpopular and can cost you an election in other words would you rather do that thing and lose an election?

I would like to know when the ruling party would make Health and Social Care a priority for the poor and disabled especilly children. And when would they start building affordable houses for those who cannot afford mortgages. Ghanaians are simply fed up with lip services from those we vote into power, it’s about time they put their money where their mouth is. God bless our Homeland Ghana.

  30. Asiedu on October 31st, 2008 8:54 am

This is a reaction to the news that an Accra High Court has ruled that Stephen Adei of GIMPA is a professor. I find the judgement of the court very strange. Institutions of higher learning make/appoint professors. As far as the record goes, Stephen Adei has not been appointed as a professor by GIMPA. The judgement therefore makes Stephen Adei Ghana’s first court-appointed professor. He would hold himself as professor because a court said so, not because a tertiary institution had designated him as such.

What does this mean for GIMPA’s internal processes for appointing professors? Should GIMPA accept or ratify the judgement and formally make him a professor?

  31. lawrence on November 1st, 2008 12:43 pm

  33. emmanuel on November 5th, 2008 10:00 am

kojo, if there is any comparison to be made, it should never be Ghana and Kenya but Ghana and America. wanna hear Prof. Mills say “the failure is mine, not yours” as MacCain did……obama & America said YES we CAN, Nana Addo & Ghana will say ”We believe in Ghana” come Dec.8. Ghana will be one people INSHA ALLAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got something to say?
