What are your impressions about the second presidential debate?
November 13, 2008
Last night’s debate in Tamale centered on governance, social and human security.
All four candidates told ghanaians they they were indeed most suitable to be in charge of running this country?
Interesting enough all candidates agreed that it is necessary to establish a more responsive government to improve the standard of living of Ghanaians. I’m sure you also agree with them on this one.
The IEA did their home work pretty well. This debate was much more interesting and the organisation very well done. Were you impressed?
In the end all the candidates pledged peace. Many thanks to them. Meanwhile supporters should do likewise.
Why don’t you tell me what your impressions about the second presidential debate are?

Got something to say?

talk! talk! talk!
when are we going to se action?
act! act! act!
I was surprised by the poor quality of questions. It appears the moderators had not spent any time reading the candidates’ manifestos. As a result, most of the questions invited the candidates to recite items in their manifesto rather than challenge them to discuss how they intend to finance and implement the promises in the manifesto.
As an example, to ask what will you do about corruption is a question that shows lazy moderation. Rather, all teh candidates have detailed how they will do this in their manifesto and a good moderator engages on these plans.
Isn’t it serious if all people dip their figures in the same container of ink during the elections? What happens if someone has a skin disease/sour … HIV? Has the EC thought about this?

Nana Akufo-Addo is not only deceiving Ghanaians but he is also insulting our intelligence. Why am I saying this?
I have lost count of the billions he has been promising all over the place, yet the collapsed Bricks & Tiles factory situated at the heart of his constituency, Kyebi, which he promised in 1996 to restore when voted into office as MP has since grown weeds and snakes.
And the youth in his constituency are wandering about jobless and hopeless. Nobody should take Akufo-Addo serious; he only wants to be president to satisfy his selfish ambition.
i think nana addo improved a lot as against the first one. he got some of us worrying. but generally i’ll say he carried the day
Kojo, i think the debate is good but Ghanaians have already made up their minds already. i believe your goodself Kojo, have made your mind too.I personally think the only way to consolidate our young democracy is to vote for change after every 2 terms(8yrs) No matter how good a party has performed, we need fresher ideas to continue from where they have left off. This will allow for equitable and fair distribution of wealth and development. the NPP have done their best, let’s all Ghanaians vote for a different political party to rule. Looking at the political lanscape, it’s only NDC that has the chance. Attah Mills looks ready and prepared, let,s vote for him.
