Got something to say?

In my view, Rawlings or no Rawlings, I have made up my mind to vote for Prof. Mills so no statements by anybody would prevent me from voting for my favourite.
No signifancant effect will be felt from from these so called ‘legacy’. I believed the messages presented to the electorate during the campains will decided who wins. Comparing governance at different time each with its own challenges and opportunities for me is not right.

u see kojo whether legacy of Rawlings or PNDC Ghanaians are simply fed-up with this inseqntive govt which is standing the rich fear, mind u , u are just a young and vebrante young man very objective and am sure u went to sch under the Rawlings regime and l hope if u will not mistake things in those day were better than this day and the gap btn the rich and poor was not as widely as we can see this day when aflurence is order of the day . All we need now is change and Prof stands form that change. how can we have an arongant person like Akufo Addo as president just to come and lord it over us. somebody who is not the president jet but himself and his pple like Gabby are bloffing Ghanaians wld not vote for me inspite of the money thy are sharing in villages .
pple are desecding so would choose Prof over Nana . so whethe legacy or no legacy prof is the choosen one. hve good day.
I think the platform given to Doc. Kennedy and Doc. Aidoo this morning was excellent. A dispassionate listener will realise that the NPP side of the story out weighs that of the NDC.
What caught my notice was the massive revenue generation of government which Doc. Aidoo tried to use as proof of squeezing water out of stone. Clearly his position cannot be correct since the percentage of income taxable has dropped, the tax net rather widened .
This to me is an endorsement of the Governments policies since people are less averse to avoiding and evading taxes.
Moreover the massive social infrastructural developement that the government is undertaking is visible everywhere, admittedly some have not been on schediule and creates some discomfort.
This however is about delays not in-action on the part of government.,I believe that when they are complete the benefits will far outstrip the discomfort we had to go through . A typical exampl is water supply to our homes.
I think we should keep our eyes firmly on the ball i.e. developmment and not get swayed by NDC arguments.
The NPP government has done extremely well, naturally there is always room for improvement as evidenced in even the first world.
Lets endorse Nana Addo Dankwa’s candidature and vote for him and the NPP based onthe massive developement ndertaken by bthe Kufuor administration.
In my view, the past or present presidents are two different individuals and what should be looked at is the potential of the present whether he can deliver to move the country forward. the past could perform but that does’nt mean the present can also deliver and in the same way the past can fail whilst the present will deliver so lets look at their potential to deliver.
It is obvious that the legacy of President Kuffour is full Nepotism, Corruption, Favouritism, greed for wealth, polarisation of the nation, arrogance, bad governance in terms of insecurity, Judicial manipulation, economic hardships, fake economic performance figures paraded around and thus cannot in anyway be comapared to the legacy of Rawlings which manifestred honesty, national coersion , Judicial independence, security for all and created opprtunities for all and not just a few people. The Polytechnics built all over the regions enable many to educate themselves for jobs.
Prof. Mills will definately become the next President of Ghana on the basis of the Rawlings legacy. Rawlings is simply uncorruptable and content with his modest lifestlye. They have gone the world round looking for evidence against him but all to no avail.
what a great show it was!!! the contribution of the Rawlings’s NDC regime based on the four thematic areas identified, can not come near that of the Kufour led NPP eight year term. How can cash and carry system of the NDC match that of the NHIS and the free maternal care for pregnant women that the NPP has introduced? We are also talking about the massive infrastructure in the educational system coupled with school feeding programme, FCUBE and the mass transport system that has brought about ”educational revolution” of the NPP which was entirely not the case during the NDC regime. Mention is also made of the strength of our judicial system and the commitment of the NPP government to fight corruption and deepen the rule of law as compared to the worst human rights violations and media dark days of the NDC where rule of law was a mere slogan and not a reality. The economic forefront even tells it all. Micro-economic stability and a quadrupled GDP alongside reduction in the interest rate that the NPP has initiated have paved way for the evolution of a vibrant economic transformation as compared to that of the collapsed, crippled economic system that the NDC left behind.
So why not? The legacy that the two regimes have produced would have monumental impart on the chances of the NDC and the NPP come Decenber 7, just a journey of two and a half weeks. And if the above enumerated policies of the current ruling government of the NPP are anything to go by, then surely NANA ADDO would be ahead of MILLS and victory shall be his.
Having said this I wish to add that your OUTFIT should try and really get Aurther Kennedy and Tony Aido back tomorrow to give more indepth analysis of the thematic areas named above. I will also wish that you should undertake an independent research into the statistical scruples that the two men exhibited in your show this morning so as to set the records straight and help we the discerning listeners outside to equip ourselves with the actual economic data of the country presently.
Have a nice day-NAA ABDULAI DOOBIA (I)
Kojo, it will hurt and help all the same. Just As the waters have been channeled to produce hydro electric power, this same water could be disastrous if the dam breaks or opened. Kudos Prez Kuffuor, you have paved the way for Nana Addo. Ex-prez, go back to the drawing board and tackle issues. Your tenure has ended and now you’re causing more than harm to Prof. Go Nana, Go NPP.
i think the legacy of these immediate past gov’ts will have an impact on this year’s polls. People are basically voting against the NPP because they do not have money in their pockets plus the fact that they perceive gov’t officials, ministers and the president himself to be corrupt. Again people perceive some of the projects and purchases of this Kuffour led administration to be a clear waste of our little resources.
Yes people will vote based on these things. The NDC on the other hand is not putting out a clear agenda or alternatives as to how they intend to turn things round if indeed the economy needs to be turned around.
They are just banking their hopes on the fact that the Kuffour administration has delivered less than what Ghanaians expected them to, so they will vote for an alternative which clearly is the NDC. As to whether they can deliver on the high expectations of Ghanaians, i think we will be dissapointed again.
it has no effect the message is what matters
Prez Kuffuor has left no legacy for any candidate. Look just compare one thing, thus CORRUPTION. Kuffor cannot talk about corruption because he knew his ministers and MPs are just following his track. If we really want to compare I can tell you that the NPP guys know how to create and chop, they are selfish, thinks about only themselves and their close relatives and nothing more. Do you know that an NPP DCE has eigth cars parked in his house, three of which are official vehicles? This man has two big houses and a hotel, all aquired in seven years whiles his predecesor cannot complete his house he started before he left office. You can go to Ho and check.
i think that Dr kenedy is should be ashamed of himself, they go out of the country and come back through npp to chop pur money. we will vote them out when the day comes.
The former president ended his presidency with excellence…..the same can`t be said about Kuffour…..he has amassed wealth during his tenure including acquiring a hotel…..he created an award and gave himself a gold chain which cost several thousands of pounds….he has most of his tenure outside of Ghana–travelling and recieving perdium instead of going to the grassroots……JAK`s legacy cannot surport Akuffo Addict…..Rawlings is a man of intergrity and his legacy of handing over peacefully in a transition of 2000 to the opposition leader and being accountable by living with Ghanaians…….there is a difference.
the npp govt. is a shame to the people of Ghana, we will vote them out
What is this talk of Past and Present legacies helping the presidential candidates?
The fact is that both NDC and NPP have all got both good and bad pasts.and for me I’m sick and fed up with all this blame game. When are we going to have true nationalists who will stand up for what is good and right rather than towing partisan lines? Ghana is bigger than any party. Folks let’s wise up and stand up for Ghana rather these parties(NDC, NPP…etc) cos no matter who is in power they will never think of us the ordinary people.
I feel that people are apathetic with the NPP but don’t want the NDC back in power. So what choice are we left with? We need a strong third force to get the nation going.
Kojo you are the man… You really made me so proud by the way your questions put both Dr.s on the spot. Quite interesting and educative programme you had… we are proud of you not being partial.we hope all will do it your way. And you are definately one of the reasons why I will listern to Joy in the morning…
I don’t actually know what is wrong with Arthur Kenedy, he talks as if he does not know what is going on in this country. I am a university graduate with a degree in computer science and have serve the nation by offering the National Service. Now they have laid us off and have brought in their family members to take positions in the firm leaving us out there suffering.
During NDC Era, you are assured of getting a job after your service but the NPP government is claiming, has provided jobs but it has rrather provided jobs for their families and girlfriends.
Prof Mill, NDC please we need you to come and save us from this menace the NPP government has brought to this country. God bless Ghana, God bless Atta Mills, God bless NDC and God bless us all.
Hello Kojo,
These are the issues which we need to be hearing from the political parties, and infact this is what i call a debate not that question and answer section which was organised by the IEA.
Infact this should have been the basis for these years election and not what our politicians are doing aroud the country.
Thank you.
kojo, Kudos to you for bringind Dr. Tony Aidoo and Arthur Kennedy for this intellectual discussion. This is what we need. it’s good for students, workers, pensioners to know the true state of affirs of the economy. I encourage you to continnue to cover all sectors of the economy. Folow up with checks as you did today to uncover any untruth and report back to your discerning listeners. But i think Dr. Tony Aidoo always bring into focus intellectual discussion backed by facts and figures and i enjoy listening to him. I hope you will alway remain unbiase. To some of us you are one of the best. But we need change of government and NDC is the better alternative.
IT ALMOST SEEMS AS IF RAWLING IS THE ONE RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT.
World Bank
Sub-Saharan Africa received almost $12 billion in remittances in 2007, and that was only the official number. With “informal” flows added the total amount can easily be double that number.
Nigeria was the highest recipient, with $3.3 billion.
Other recipients in the top 10 were Sudan with $1.2 billion, Senegal and Uganda with $0.9 billion each, South Africa $0.7 billion, Lesotho $0.4 billion, Mauritius $0.2 billion, Togo $0.2 billion and Mali $0.2 billion.
The world’s top five recipients of migrant remittances in 2007 is India ($27 billion), which also had the world’s largest migration population of 5.7 million; China ($25.7 billion); Mexico ($425 billion); Philippines ($17 billion) and France (12.5 billion).
Kojo,
The bulk of Ghanaians do not look at what legacy was left by previous gov.t as a bases to elect the president.Really, what does the trick is how well will the candidates speak to the electorate on the pressing problems. It wil interest you to know that majority of the old folks would rather vote for either NPP or CPP.They just hate Rawlings.Hence NDC.

Kodzo Abala… Tone down your propaganda and lies… You already lost the election…
Gabby keep dreaming, Because you have been paid. NDC will win 90% of the sit in the three northen regions.
Npp will lose this year Elections. Long Live Prof, long Live NDC and long Live Ghana.
Kojo, u see for me ex_ president Rawlings and the professor are two distinct personalities and that must be made very clear, now ,the professor was very much part of the N.D.C government, which saw the economy basically moving from bad to worst, the establishment of the GETFUND,provition of science resource centres and buses, expantion of classrooms, the was even cash and carry in our hospitals, governance was not the best but i was still a proud Ghanaian,i salute at the sound of the national anthem and national pledge and most of all i loved the colors of our national flag.
I read of the killing of the four high court judges and the retired millitary officer but so also was the murder of the Yaa NAA and his subjects, the c.p.p chairman of the northen region and several other cases we can sight ,but the question is,are some Ghanaians more important to the extent that we cannot care about others?or are we not all to be protected equally?are some more human than others?
Kojo i am convinced bejond all dougt that Ghanaians have become more indecipline than before, you can check what happens in our schools, the disregard for the armmy and the police especially ,this people used to be highly respected in his country ,what happen even those who previously were very decipline people are giving up becos it does pay any more to be decipine, what happened? corruption has become a common phrase in our society .
I remember one thing my worldview and development lecturer said to me once ,if the church refuses to deciple the nation then ,the nation will deciple the church .
KOJO, we cannot continue to persue economic emmancipation at the expense of our national pride and value, otherwise our persuit would only lead to selfdestruction,Nana Akuffo Addo and the prof will surely be judged based on the past and immediate government performance, but we must also bear in mind the varying economic circumstances under which both governments worked and what was achieved under these varying circumstances. KEN , MARANATHA UNIVERSITY COLLEGE,SOWUTOUM.
We never want people like Gabby, Nana, Chief and King Kufour to cross their legs and Lord over us. Whose priorities are very different from that of the ordinary Ghanaian.
They will want to fly all the time and live in mansions at expense of more hospitals and welfare of ordinary workers. THEY MUST GO!
BOTH HAVE HAD THEIR CHANCE TO MAKE GHANA BETTER.THE FUTURE IS WHAT IS MOST IMPORTANT. I THINK GHANA DESERVE TO PROSPER IN THE HAND OF THE NEXT PREZO.
Well, whoever wins should be the one the people believe has all the country at heart… at least we hope. All we need after these elections is P E A C E ! ! We do not need any violence of any sort. It will never benefit any of us. SO we should watch out for that too!!
i don’t think the legacy of the past president will affect the in coming one, since the out going president has a great legacy and dats the main reason why we shd retain the rulling party so dat we do not watse anytime walking BLACKWARDS. lets all move FORWARD to make ghana a great nation in some years to come
NPP WE ARE MOVING FORWARD

God works in miraculous ways. God cannot sit down for some one who has contributed badly and arrogantly towards the development of Ghana. Some people hype people unnecessarily.
I can bet my head for sacrifices that NANA ADDO cannot win or even become president of this dear nation of ours. Even if in any unlikely event he turns out to be the winner, he not meet the January 7th for his official handing over. How can a man like that become a president of this country?
1)A man who does not have any moral value..
2)A man who claim to be a human right activist but couldn’t fight for Ghanaians abroad(The Gambian Killings)
3)A man who is so desperate to become a president just because he wants to revenge…
4) A man who has not met the minimum qualification of becoming a president or even contest for presidency, thats HEIGHT…In fact the minimum hight is 5 feet and he is lower than that.
5) Even the NPP themselves did not give him a clear victory during their own flag bearer elections and how can Bogus Nonsense Intelligent (BNI).Because of these, i’m fully convinced that Nana cannot win. If the media like, they can project him to the sky but he will not win. Piiiaaa kai..Nana Addo. Never, In fact Never…
You can email me if you agree with me…
(mamsoft2006@yahoo.com)
BNI can say what ever they want to say, Ghanaians have decided and nothing can change our minds. Come next week my now, Prof will be elected as the president.
THE BNI CAN EVEN PREDICT 95% FOR AKUFO ADDO. HE WILL LOOSE THIS ELECTION. WITH FAKE PROMISES… MILLS ALL THE WAY
Donald, learn to spell LOSE before you start predicting elections…
hahahahahah
Augustina, your Village does not represent Ghana… Maybe your village has chosen Mills but, everyone else has chosen Nana!
MAMsoft, your spelling sucks and, your lies are irritating… Don’t cry too much on the 7th!
there are lots of people in korle bu who need money for heart surgeries but look at this NPP people using our tax payers money for mounting Big Billboards this clearly shows they don’t care about us so GHANAIANS let vote this NPP PEOPLE OUT.Going forward to Where ? to the BUSH.
