Are we heading towards a coalition government?
December 18, 2008
The 2 contenders for the second round of elections are making promises of an all inclusive government among some other juicy deals to win the support of the remaining first round contenders. The CPP and PNC party leaders have maintaned a neutral stance, in that members are free to vote for whichever candidate they preferred.
There have been some public endorsements for the 2 contenders by factions within both the CPP and PNC. Despite their neutral stance, northern region CPP and Greater Accra PNC have endorsed Prof. Mills while PNC members of parliarment and lower Manya PNC have endoersed Nana Addo.
Now with the factions within these 2 smaller parties could there a question of their credibility or does it suggest that these parties are indecisive or divided?
This could be the case that the position of neutrality has been misconstrued. Is there poor communication between party leaders and members? Could the fractions also hurt these smaller parties in the future?
Would smaller parties receive financial benefits for endorsing any of the 2 contenders? Should these smaller parties take the promises and juicy deals of the NPP and NDC seriously? Do they stand the chance of maintaining the positions given them or could they lose them in the case of say reshuffling 1 or 2 years down the line?
So, what do you think?
Are we heading towards a coalition government?

Got something to say?

I THINK THAT THE TIME HAS COME FOR GHANA TO ADVANCE IN FORM AND IN MATURITY IN THAT THEY ARE MOVING FORWARD THROUGH JESUS CHRIST KNOW THAT GHANA IS NOW GROWN AND THEY ARE PROVING IT BEYOND DOUBT.
We should not think at all to form a coalition government within this our Democracy of multi-party system. if that will be, the whole country will not have anybody to account for something, it will be like a country for nobody, cared by nobody. We need the checks and balance that comes with multi-party democracy.
For a Fact,These juicy promises made by the two parties justifies their desperation to capture Political power. Its all a Gimick.Politicians are not to be trusted.
