I am a Ghanaian American in New Jersey and I am disappointed at the US under secretary for Africa claiming the election was “generally” free and fair. Did she visit the Ashanti region? If she only stayed in Accra, how can she draw any conclusion based on observations made in one region (10% of the Country). I love Ghana but I hated what happen yesterday. Ghana is better than that. Lets keep up with your own standards.

I support NPP, but I do really think we lost this election right after the first round. There is no shame in losing election, all we need to do is hand over peacefully to the NDC and then get our acts together and see where we did wrong and come back in four years time more stronger and ready to serve the good people of ghana. I will be gutted if NPP tries to hold on to power and thereby claim a ghanaian life. I think we’ve lost a great contest and we owe Ghanaians PEACE, after supporting us for 8 years. I’m really sorry for NANA’s loss, but a big congratulations to Prof. Mills and I hope he can continue with the good progress NPP made. All I’m looking forward to is a government that will create jobs for the people and improve education, health and environment. Please Mr Mills, do not repeat the same mistakes the NPP and the previous NDC administration did. I hope you will remember those who sent you there, and all ghanaians for that matter for they will examine you in four years time. Prof. Mills, please enjoy it, and keep your promises and don’t try to fool ghanaians because we are wiser than you guys think.

this is in response to Ama, virginia beach. Well if the ndc thinks that the NPP is trying to manipulate the figures, it has the right to protest. At this point if you do not protest, and the accusations of figure fixing is true, then the will of the people would be over turned by a few power drunk people, who would throw the whole country into chaos, just to mentain their status quo in society.
Once again if the allegation of figure fixing is true, the individuals responsible should be tried and jailed. in my opinion figure fixing is treason, it is a coup created by the manipulation of figures, so all individuals involved in any figure fixing, be it NDC or NPP , should be tired for treason.
it is time for the rule of law……and more power to the PEOPLE.
Amen.

Congratulations! Joy FM for that wonderful job and analysis which were fair and authentic. Don’t worry because those who said you did well in Dec 7, are the same people who have been chastising you for mentioning wrong figures. the multi million dollar question is, why is it that only four constituencies in Ashanti that you and all other radio stations got wrong? why did Nhyiaeso delay when those ballot crossing rivers were in? if you had not done what you did, disaster would have been our portion.
God knew this, that is why no one could stop you from doing what you did. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, you have made me proud as a class mate from UCC, i commend you and your team for that wonderful job. keep it up, we supoort you.

Ghanaians have clearly rejected the npp. But Kojo, you know what, they are still in the game because of their arrogance, impudence and fear of their corrupt deals being exposed. nana akufo addo has really shown to Ghanaians that his very existence is defined by arrogance, and his claim of belieiving in Ghana has being proved deficient by his stance on this election.
God will surely give us a humble and humane president in the person of Prof. John Evans Atta Mills. Arrogance and pomposity will never rule Ghana, and therefore the arrogance posturing of nana and his npp group have ruled them out of this election!!

COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS
it is likely to tie.
Even if NDC maintains it old record of 16,211 votes in the last Dec 7 election without improvement (though nt much real), and NPP is to get the rest of 36,789 out of the total 53,000 registered voters approximately,(assuming there is a 100% voter turnout, which is not real because some will be invalid), the difference will be the NDC’s 23,055+16,211(their old record of 16211 plus the current difference of 23,055) for NDC and the remaining 36,789 for Nana Addo to add to his votes, it will be 4,515,200 for Nana Addo, as against 4,517,657 for Prof Mills. the difference then will be 2,457 votes difference in favour of Prof Mills. However percentage wise, it will appear as if no one would have got the 50%+1 vote as in the constitution, (49.63%for NPP, and 49.99), so what happens then? It must however be noted that this assumption is too extreme to give any significant advantage to NPP.
Personally i am of the view that Nana Akufo Addo may graciously have to concede defeat and and earn much political respect than to wait to be told that he has lost, especially when tension is mounting.
Will the allegations make any changes in the decision of the EC, now that evidence is being sought?
well, let’s wait and see.

In 2000 we prayed to God for a change in government, in 2008 we have prayed to God to give us a leader of His choice. I believe God has spoken and spoken clearly, Atta-Mills is the chosen one. But let me recount some fews issues had with the NPP of which i used to sympathised with. During the later end of Kuffour’s gov’t they have become too arrogant. for example, when well meaning ghanaians complained that they can’t feel the impact of gov’t policies in their pockets, prez Kuffour called them lazy, again when we asked for a reduction in petrol price, they gave us an insignificant reduction only to come back after the first round to give a substantial reduction. Talk about the late release of commercial drivers for trafic offenses etc, etc. NPP is the cause of its own ruin. Finally, i would say kudos to JOY FM for a wonderful election coverage. Your website for the elections was second to none. Please don’t feel intimidated by the accusations from the NPP. Some of us are prepared to defend your good course. Thank you for the opportunity

My suggestion for the NPP may seems abnormal but may worth the more important if they would like to win the election to be held at Tain come Friday.
The Suggestion is that, the president himself i.e J. A. Kuffour should go the the constituency and beg for votes for his party. Other than that, if the party losses this election people are going to commit suicide here in Kumasi

I do not know why everybody is putting all the blame on Radio Gold, they brought they only did their work and i will like all of us to only do that. The work of a radio station is to inform and investigate and they only did that. But When i hear Kojo of the CDD telling us that the system is strong, i am quite dissapointed. It take courage to stand in the middle of trouble. Being partisan for the sake of the country for me is a good case. We have to realise that something went wrong at a point of time and it was a need to let people being informed. By friday, we will know were the truth stand.

It will be prudent for Nana Akufo Addo to conceive a defeat.
From all indications and mathematical calculation in that Tain constituency there is no way Nana is going to win the general election.
Professor Attah Mills has already won the election and the wing of change is already blowing in the air.
NPP government should be aware by now that Ghanaians cannot be charmed by reducing Petrolium price during election era.
Shortie (Akuffo Addo) should rather tone down and make way for Atta Mills to enjoy the new Presidential Mansion…….cest la vie !!

On the election results you did very well but I have a problem with the figures you recorded for Atwima Kwanwoma and Bantama constituencies, which are having the same figures of 39,147 for Nana Akufo-Addo and 6,564 for John Atta Mills, how can the figures be the same for the two different constituencies? i think Gnaians have just shown that they can hire and fire!.when they hire you and you do not meet their expertations you are fired and a new person employed.
that is exactly what has happened to our current government.
in my candid opinion i think our current government started well but along the way somehow they mess up that is why they are going through this shock..
with respect to some of the allegations raised by the ruling government is just a face saving gimmic. According to their spokespersons they want those constitutions mentioned in the volta region nolified how is that?
how has those incidents impacted on the official figures released
are those allegations serious enough to warrant a nolification of 9 tp 10 constituencies? what is the average voter turn out generally compared to that of volta region ? and how is this compared december 7elections?
this are some of the questions that are boggling my mind.
besides evidence could not be provided when it matters.
am shock to hear some of the things our political leaders are doing just to remain in power. NDC beware when you get power don’t forget your time is limeted and ghanaians will hold you accountable in 2012.

Kojo…….thanks for the good works JOY fm
NDC has won
THANK GOD
MILL of new PRESIDENT
Kojo, can u imagine somebody like Kwasi Prat chanting people on Radio Gold for coup if the EC declares the results tin favor of NPP? are we safe, such people will be no where to be found if theres war. I would shat that radio station down if I were Kuffour.
why is the npp people complaining? didn’t they also jubilated when they took the lead during the 1st round? they should watch their words cos they may have done it more if they were to be in ndc’s position now.
what the npp are doing is discrediting and destroying the democracy they claim to to have instituted in their government
Kojo, gud morning, we are all in ghana and we’ve all seen who this elections really belongs to. Mr Kwabena Agyapong, i respect you so much pls try and stop the the ridging and not been fair to the country you and your party believe in it. Its not your era again that does not maen your party is crippled, you might come to power again if you do your home works well the next time. its obvious that Pfof. Mills has won the elections.
What exactly is going on?What is E C saying?please lets hear smthing cos we are ancious to know who the wimmer is.
this is in response to Ama, virginia beach.
Amen.

i think God wants to teach ghanaians some lessons.the fact that the N.D.C is leading doesnt mean they have won.anything at all can happen.we shouldn’t be get shocked if the N.P.P wins bcos Nana is the best.thanks
Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, you have made me proud as a class mate from UCC, i commend you and your team for that wonderful job. keep it up, we supoort you.
thanks.
I believe common sense should have resolved this deadlock. Statistics is the use of figures to make inference into the future. 229 constituencies is enough data for accurate aanalysis to be made. I am disappointed the E.C could not use scientific methods to declare the winner.

Hey kojo, as an accounting major myself, I am impressed with the team effort by the sms. Together with a former white house stuff we were listening to all your analysis and he said ” I am impressed these ghanaians, you did not spill any blood, no wonder nkrumah said your independence is meaning less without the total liberation of Africa.”
At the end of the day, Kojo please advise ghanaians to reduce the insult and respect our former heads of state (Rawlings and kuffour). Gabby and madam tetteh remember that politicians will even promise to build a bridge when there is no river as stated by the former russian leader. Also all over the world various governmnet blame their predessors for any mistake.
GOOD LUCK, GOD BLESS GHANA! GOD BLESS JOY FM!!!

Kojo, Sunday’s poll made your station more popular than ever, bravo! The BBC, Aljazeera, New York Times, Cnn, Bloomberg, inter alia all quoted the great Joy FM. It would interest you to know that it was yesterday that the BBC and CNN added myjoyonline as an external link on their site.
BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO! You are the best. Next time please just be consistent and confident with the news topic / headline on myjoyonline and dont yield unnecessarily presure. Good morning.

Thank you for the opportunity
am a ghanaian living in new jersey, what is going on now shows how mature we are as ghanaian. this tells us you can not mess with us we put you in power and when you become arrogant we will get you down. The N.P.P are now begging for votes this is not going to work sorry. Now this becomes a lesson to the N.D.C when you get there make yourselves accountable to the people cos 4 years is just around the corner be smart.
Hi Kojo,
My suggestion for the NPP may seems abnormal but may worth the more important if they would like to win the election to be held at Tain come Friday.
The Suggestion is that, the president himself i.e J. A. Kuffour should go the the constituency and beg for votes for his party. Other than that, if the party losses this election people are going to commit suicide here in Kumasi
Thank you!
Yaw Adusei
Bantama- Kumasi.
Kojo help me send this message across to Nana. He should throw in the towel and make Ghanaian who think he is too proud to do so ashamed. Make Ghanaian and especially the NPP prour and then help maintain peace and order. Most importantly of all earn the respect of all by throwing in the towel. Ghana NEEDS peace
kojo,
tell Gabby to tone down his voice, for they are fighting a losing battle.
after all, before Dr. afari-gyan addressed the nation yesterday, said that in view of the allegations, investigations ought be conducted.NDC party has provided some evidence but NPP party is yet to do so.the multi-million dollar question is, as a serious party as NPP,It should have come prepared with evidence but not making wild allegations.

joy fm what is your crime?when you did what you know best you have committed a treason.is it the same joy fm that did the projections right from 2004 to now? why today NPP is so much against JOY FM projections?is it because it did not favour the NPP? so they are!UP tradition!the majority of Ghanaians have spoken and the will of people must be respected! period!
I am glad Ghana is peaceful after all the tension. Thanks be to God
If political parties play the game fairly they will not go through all this pain.
Fair play less stress

Kojo, I wish you and the entire Joy crew a fruitful new year. May God increase you in all aspects of life, meet you at the points of your needs. You shall be the head and not the tail in Jesus name. God bless u guys
Kojo, i want tickets for unhappy wives, confused husbands. How do i get some?
Kojo, i love you and everybody at Joy fm. Congrats for the way you organised the run-off.
I love you people so much that i hate Frances Asiam and the NPP people for what they said about you. Can you compare a station like Oman to Joy fm? She was there on Monday evening and said horrible things about you but God has shown the truth. Frances realised your station is not credible because they are loosing. SHAME FRANCES ASIAM, SHAME NPP. GOD IS PUNISHING YOU AND WILL PUNISH YOU THE MORE IN THIS COUNTRY.
I LOVE YOU KOJO, TILLY AND ALL THE PEOPLE AT JOY FM, YOU MAKE MY DAY COMPLETE.
It will be prudent for Nana Akufo Addo to conceive a defeat.
From all indications and mathematical calculation in that Tain constituency there is no way Nana is going to win the general election.
Professor Attah Mills has already won the election and the wing of change is already blowing in the air.
God bless Ghana
NPP government should be aware by now that Ghanaians cannot be charmed by reducing Petrolium price during election era.
Shortie (Akuffo Addo) should rather tone down and make way for Atta Mills to enjoy the new Presidential Mansion…….cest la vie !!
Kojo,is the eletoral commissioner telling us the 2 regionsin which the NPP won will them victory over the 8 regions the NDC won?let Nana kwon that Ghanaians dont want him as president and thus all.he cant force his way out n matter how very hard they try to manupulate the result.God above wont allo it.
Kojo are you awere 200 arm men have been sent to the volta region to cause confusion so that they will recornd that as evidence?if they have one why they provided as the NDC did.my freind here in accra was recuited as an obsever for the NPP at a station here in accra and later voted 5 times for them and was promised huge sum?evidence will be provided on demand.
Hello Kojo,
U guys are doing a good job. But pls desist from calling the election for either candidates. U see, some of us understand what projections are, but the ordinary man on the street will only comment that “even joy has announced a winner” w/o understanding JOY’s contentions that they results announced are “‘projections’”. So pls after Tain, wait for the electoral commissioner to do his work. We know u guys are good, u do not need to prove that point. Do not jeopardise this hard earned reputation. Sometimes u can be a professor, but prentend to be a student just to maintain the peace. So, I am begging of u people, dont call the election for either candidates, projections or not. I beg. Take the advise of your big sister.

Hi Kojo,
I always read news from your website and listen to Joy FM. You are doing a great job and I congratulate you for the abreast information you always put out. Please update your result with the correct figures to make it very credible.
Whoever becomes the President, Ghana would surely enjoy peace because God is on our side.
i think Gnaians have just shown that they can hire and fire!.when they hire you and you do not meet their expertations you are fired and a new person employed.
that is exactly what has happened to our current government.
in my candid opinion i think our current government started well but along the way somehow they mess up that is why they are going through this shock..
with respect to some of the allegations raised by the ruling government is just a face saving gimmic.
NDC beware when you get power don’t forget your time is limeted and ghanaians will hold you accountable in 2012.
well god bless ghana
hi kojo,
i am a ghanaian linivng in columbus ohio. i have been following ghana’s election on line on your website. i listened to joy online throughout till the results were declared. please kindly tell the npp and their presidential candidate to please throw in the towel for the sake of peace in ghana. my advise to president kuffor is that rawlings handed power to him peacefully and he should kindly do the same
kojo,
if these npp people dont let it go. if anybody dies because of this election we will demand it from them…..my suggestion is we cancel the results in the vr and ash.
