Got something to say?

if ex gratia is good for pm’s and govt officials then ex-gratia is good for all ghanaian worker. i edge the CJA to go on the street to demontrate for the restoration of ex-gratia.
MP’s see’s nothing wrong about the cancellation of ex-gratia for worker but but see’s every thing wrong about the reduction of thier’s. what double standard.
Beneficiaries of this ex-gratia should be given their benefits so that we may have our peace.
Eeeiii!!!!!! wonders will never end. What do these “politrikcians” take us for? FOOLS?
How much does the average civil servant get after 30 years of service to mother Ghana? Answer: 1 TV+ Fridge+ microwave. The world is never fair and Ghanaian POLICTRICIANS are no better. They only care about themselves and their families.
Let’s wise up
We are led by con men and bandits! That is putting it nicely! Every 4 years to go around and lie to people about blah blah blah and, nothing ever improves but, people continue to vote for them!
Look at the North! The area has been a dumb for 30 years with one or two things done but, nothing radical done to bridge the gap!
All regions of Ghana have been neglected and, many people are living in misery!
The average salary in Ghana is 800 dollars a year and, these guys want 80,000 dollars! 80,000 dollar, 80,000 dollars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is 100 times greater than the average salary…
IN America the president only makes 4 times more than the average salary! IN Ghana it is 100 times more for the MP’s! Not even the president!
NOw you realize why we are broke as a joke and, are a LOW INCOME DEVELOPING COUNTRY! Now you see why we have a gutter problem, mosquito problem, housing problem etc etc…
Our politics is like the lottery !!!! ONce you win you are set for LIFE!
These guys will probably be paid the poor tax payers money forever, even after they have long retired!!!
Unless the insidious 1992 constitution is changed to reflect the socio economic status of country we might be in trouble for a long time!
what is happen to Ghana is shame and i think that we must review everything
I want to know whether Parliament, through due process, approved the ex-gratia awards for the Executive and vice versa.
By the way, did ex-President Kuffuor breach the constitution when he withdrew some of the privileges of former President Rawlings?
And is President Mills breaching the constitution in his attempt to safeguard the resources of the nation?

Malaria is the NUMBER 1 killer of childen in Ghana! Yet, we can afford to give leaders pay raises and, buy them big cars! If anyone says the truth they are called a populist and shunned…
Shame on Atta Mills, and, Shame on all of the leaders of this country..
kojo I think the whole idea abaout the “ex-gratia” is to cheat the intelligence of ghanaians so I think is in the right direction for the president to give it a second thought- ghanians have passed the “teens” in politics now.And I believe the president is going to keep his promise “ghana first”.
kojo, ponography, when it becomes habitual can be horific on the minds of the victim so I suggest it should be banned outright !
hi kojo, i would be happy if joy fm can link up with a radio station in cape coast to broadcast the super morning show since the radio stations in the metropolitan cannot give us any quality morning show.
i think prez mills should do something about the ex-gratia because it is too much. It should be reduced and added to the salaries of teachers for they are suffering.
dear kwadwo,
I want to know whether after the fast track ruling over the professorship of prof. Stephen Addai , Mr. Egbert still went ahead to appeal against the case and if yes, what happened
Kojo, this is very important and interesting, please share with the pop. of Ghana.
A Pastor with GUTS!
Thought you might enjoy this interesting prayer given in Kansas at the opening session of their senate. It seems prayer still upsets some people. When Minister Joe Wright was asked to open the new session of the Kansas Senate, everyone was expecting the usual genialities, but this is what they heard:
Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask Your forgiveness and to seek your direction and Guidance. We know Your Word says, ‘Woe to those
Who call evil good,’ but that is exactly what we have done.
We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.
We have exploited the poor and called it
The lottery.
We have rewarded laziness and called it
Welfare.
We have killed our unborn and called it
Choice.
We have shot abortionists and called it
Justifiable.
We have neglected to discipline our children and called it
Building self esteem..
We have abused power and called it
Politics.
We have coveted our neighbor’s possessions and called it
A mbition .
We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it
Freedom of expression.
We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it
Enlightenment.
Search us, Oh, God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free.
Amen!
The response was immediate. A number of Legislators walked out during the prayer in protest. In 6 short weeks, Central Christian Church, where Rev. Wright is pastor, logged more than 5,000 phone calls with only 47 of those calls responding negatively. The church is now receiving international requests for copies of this prayer from India , Africaand Korea .
Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program, ‘The Rest of the Story,’and Received a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired.
With the Lord’s help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called ‘One Nation Under God.’
I’If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for everything.’
.. do you have the guts to pass it on?
Thanks
hello Kwadwo,
Whatever we do we must remember there’s a judgment day day for of us.Is it wrong for one to join political party then why are they doing that to Bawumia.I mean the hawks in the ruling gov ‘t. owusua
I think they deserve to be given the Ex-gratia but is too much at least they should consider our country. Ghana is not a developing country
i think paying ex-Gratia to the x-pres is a laudable idea but just as when approved by parliament it should not be reviewed to the disadvantage of the x-pres it should not be payed to the disadvantage of the citizenry as well. the whole package should looked at again.
Good move Mills and I find it is typical of his character. A very humble man who is more concerned about the well being and development of the country as a WHOLE and not so much concerned about improving the living standards of a few political leaders (need I remind you who are already well off compared to the average Ghanaian walking down the streets of Accra).
I found the demands in the ex-gratia way too ridiculous-did the beneficiaries of this ex-gratia come into power thinking about the well being of Ghana or what they could gain after their ’service to the country’? Does Ghana really have to pay them to work to imorove the country their own children call home? I think about it this way, when we do something to benefit our children, we do not necesarily think about what is in for us in the end when they grow up, we mainly do things for them with the desire of giving them the best life possible, period! So Ghana is in dire need of politicians who have this same mentality, they should be willing to serve their terms in government with the singleminded aim of improving the country we all call home, I’m sure there are some out there and I think Mills is shaping out to be that example.
I don’t want to be too optimistic here, but most likely Mills will not be expecting this same compensation when his term of service is over, reason for my prediction is what he has shown Ghana so far by living in the Castle instead of his private estate.
Signed: a die hard Mills supporter!

this ‘bruhaha’ about ex-gratia can easily be compared to a limited liability company where the shareholders elect directors and the directors themselves decide on their emoluments and the dividends of the shareholders. It is more or less inevitable, the directors will ‘inflate’ their emoluments and ‘deflate’ the dividends of the shareholders. Its only human nature.
if ex-gratia is good for government official then is good for those who sent them
there.
very sad indeed.i now understand why most of the primaries to elect candidates were characterised with violence.suhum, bekwai and many more.only the one up there can save us.
No wonder these NP’s keep battling for their positions in parliament, thank God Prez MILLS has open our eye ,some of us would never have known the opportunist we always vote for.
Prez Mills, do only what is fair.
Kojo, its a pity to see a Ghanaian working 4 30rs and what is his x-gratia an amount of 17 mill and these politicians who just came to power for just 4 years expert “HUGE TAKE HOMES” Then what should the one who kills hself 4 the nation take home hole nation right. If we begin to think that the gorvernment owns us n so w must get our share wn de opportunity comes then we should note that we all will die leaving MONEY behind. The so called politicians who are layers n always use english language to play wit uor brains shd note the they end up purnishing thier sans unborn.
I think Ghana has gone so far in all aspects of development but all we need now is orderliness, self discipline and thoughtfulness of each other. We are gradually setting a stage for disaster- total breakdown.
i believe prez mills withholding the ex-gratia payments is in the interest of the country. i mean we can give out millions of cedis to these people while our people remain in unspeakable poverty coupled with economic problems. we must learn to sacrifice, thats what has made the americas a great country today.

i think all these politicians are one and the same. the only thing different about them is their party colora and names. they all want to fleece the country dry and for that i belive that God will punish them appropriately..lol
all should mind thier language of speech because all politicians are one and the same.
