Must sexual offenders be profiled?

Today’s main discussion on the Super Morning Show took some time to fly but I believe the point was made.
The point that the war against domestic violence is far from won. The implementation of the Domestic Violence Act passed in 2007 has been more than slow. A board that will supervise its implementation has yet to fully grasp the real challenges. There are also huge challenges with the sort of institutional mechanisms for helping victims.
One controversial point I thought could have been dealt with in more detail is the suggestion by gender activist and lawyer Gloria Ofori Boadu that the state makes it a policy to profile individuals within the community who fit a certain description of a domestic violence perpetrator so that they can be isolated, if you like, for special attention aimed at reforming them. This will be a preventive approach.
I know Britain has a similar system for pedophiles.
But there are challenges: Issues with privacy, the possibility of profiling wrong people and the system being open to abuse and discrimination.
I don’t know about you but I think we should fine-tune this idea and see how to make it work.

These are the figures: sexual offences increased from 767 in 2008 to 806 in 2009.
Defilement increased from 127 to 129, assault from 552 to 584, rape from 35 to 42, abduction from 36 to 40, with the exception of indecent assault which decreased from 15 to 10 and incest that decreased from two 2 to one.
Then there was also the Vodafone workers grievance with the compulsory redundancy. I think they should sit down and solve it without crippling the company.
