Ask
If you don’t know, nothing stops you from asking. Each month, we select a group or an individual and take questions on their behalf.
Then they later join us on the show to provide answers.
This month we are taking questions for the candidates.
What would you like to know from them.

Hi Kojo,
So can Pro. Attah Mills control the affairs of this nation should unlikely event they win the forth-coming elections?
My concern stems from the way former president Rawllings is actively and seriously campaigning.Knowing the former President’s penchant for power, I have my doubt if Prof. wouldn’t be manipulated, instructed and ultimately submit to the whims and caprices of the former first family. We all know that the good old Prof. is wimp and indecisive.
Let us not forget what happened to the late Dr. Liman who was not even in the camp of JJ but this man cunningly managed to oust him from power.
I do not think Mr JJ is toiling for nothing, he can visibly envisage the opportunities that lies ahead of him, because Prof. will be no match for him. After all all JJ is looking for is to make history and believe me he will go the extra mile even at the peril of his dear life.
I do not doubt the competence and capabilities of the learned Prof but, I can’t see him dictating the pace. Only a rant or rave is all the arsenal JJ needed to chase him out of the office. A punch would be too powerful which could lead to his demise and I don’t think Jerry wanted additional victim to his collection.
I am not a dooms day prophet but let’s wait and see.
Any way they will not win so there is no need to worry.
I humbly rest my case.
Kojo,
I think in formulating an investment strategy, we should be clear about what we, as a country, want to gain from investments. For example, do we want to increase employment, build capacity of the workforce, ensure technology transfer. We then offer the incentives for investment on condition of delivering our objectives of technology transfer, employment, capacity building and so forth. Otherwise, we will succeed in attracting investments, but they will be of very little use to the country. The benefits we expect to get from increased investments, will not just occur on their own. We need to actively and conciously put in place measures to guarantee these benefits, otherwise the investors will take us for a ride without us realising our benefits.

Please, why do people refer to Prostitution as “the oldest profession”? Where do they get this fact from?
Kojo, i think the ad on the joy fair can go off the site now.
now to comment on the on going or attempted sale of Gt. kojo, i am totally in support of the sale. if a company that has a gateway lincence ( all major incoming calls and outgoing calls are routed through them) poses losses after all the promotions and sales they offer, with another major source of funding from their internet services, then that leaves much to be desired. anyway, i hear some directors are in full support of the sale as well. kojo, have you considered what those directors of Gt stand to gain in terms of severance award (in relation to their current salaries)-GH¢MILLIONS. Anyway, another “strategic” asset to advise for sale, is the Ghana Commedians (i mean commercial) Bank (GCB) due to inefficiency while i would also nominate some selected Hospitals like the Adabraka polyclinic and Ridge Hospitals which are not making the desired impact despite all the financial injections from the Government. i believe, its high time to either change management or get a “strategic” partner to run those facilities. the Holy Bible even states that the branch that does not bear fruit, should be cut down and burnt. have a lovely day.
i just want 2 say that there is no peace in ghana especially during this election year.
Good morning Kojo,
I will like to find out from each of the presidential candidates for this year’s elections, what their visions are, for Ghana, in light of imminent global food and crude oil shortages? How will they want Ghana to stand out as the “star of Africa” when such they are faced with these challenges in the very near future?
I hope to hear from you soon.
Many thanks, and best regards,
Albert Kwansa
hi Kojo, the time has come for politicians to tell we the electorates the truth, nothing but the wholly truth.
Kojo pls can\t you organise all the flagbearers of various parties on one stage before the elections, this is to prove to ghanaians aside politics we are one people. Also some of these politicians are friends behind the scenes. NPP ministers have good friends in NDC therefore , the common persons on the streets should stop the useless skirmishes in their endless poverty.

DVLA” WARNING TRIANGLE….NOT BY FORCE
Hi Kojo,
Have you heard of the recent announcment by DVLA of a compulsory purchase of a warning triangle they are selling to car owners? Inasamuch as it is an important instrument in a car, is it lawful for them to force drivers to buy the one they are selling? What law states that, they have to design a triangle to sell by force to the general public. Kojo, you know that most cars come with their own traiangles,(espcially new ones and home use ones), Is DVLA saying that, everybody should throw what they have aways and buy theirs so they can make money? The fact that some people do not have these triangles or have faulty ones do not give DVLA the opportunity to cash it on car owners. I think this is unlawful and it amounts to coersion and I think they should be stopped. let car owners make the choise if they want to buy theirs. I have one in my car, it came the car and I can’t throw it away to buy a new from DVLA. Please Kojo, take this UP…..
hi kojo,
was wondering if u could put some of the joyfm jingles online for download. really in love with this jingle by moris.
thanks man
how is your day like i mean your work after the show.i also want to know what makes u stand out among ur peers.
kojo, its amazing how ghanaians abroad religiously get to work on time- it makes you wonder whether these are truely ghanaians. some argue that they do so because they would be paid better wages.
my question is, why cant we apply just a little of this attitude to our jobs back home? and then we turn around to blame the govt for selling ‘national assets’!! since when did we (the people) recognise these assets???
i would like to make a passionate appeal to all ghanaians- our nation is in our hands, to make or unmake. so let us prove to the whole world, that you can live in africa (a ‘dark continent’ ) and still make it big.
i for one am extremely proud to be a ghanaian
hello kojo! i dont understand something, help me out. The npp is dancing the Kangaroo dance to where?the meaning assigned to this dance is that the npp is moving forward. my concern is, where exactly is the npp moving forward to.Moving to the BUSH where it comes from?
Kojo is the ordinary Ghanaian safe in the hands of the Ghana Police. A foreigner will be attended to with care but the national its between you and your God.
Kojo, I want to know from our presidential candidates what exactly are they doing about the filth and the rubbers in our surroundings? Zoomlion is in operational but remember they are not everywhere in Ghana specially the rural areas and you know those environs are part of the country where farming practices go on. The rubbers are a threat to farming practices.
Hello Kojo,
There is this issue that I think should be brougt up for public debate or discussion and I’m sure you are in the position to set the ball rolling.
I used to be a very committed old girl (St. Mary’s, Accra) until the computerization of the SHS intake. Seriously, I have spoken with a lot of people and they expressed similar opinions that the system is killing the self-help spirit of old boys/girls associations.
As much as it is true that the computerization system affords some underpriviledged students the opportunity to get into the senior high schools without hassle, i think the system is at the same time a disinsentive to old boys/girls helping the schools out. This is because after contributing to the welfare of our schools by way of the old boys/girls associations, we are deprived of the opportunity of getting our children into the schools we are helping to maintain because of this new system. There is simply no quotas for this group of people which has been instrumental in the development of the schools they attended.
The GES should be compelled/encoursged to look into this issue and address it with the imput of all the stakeholders so that we can all show renewed interests in our schools for the benefit of the present and future students.
Even the churches that built these schools have been denied the opportunity of admitting students into the mission schools. Would this encourage the churches to build more schools for the benefit of all?
Let us all think through this issue seriously so that it does not kill the spirit of the OLD STUDENTS ASSOCIATIONS. Once the association dies, no one school will be different from each other and we will all be losers in the end.
Whatever happened to the PNDC policy of getting all school children wearing the same uniform? Did they end up thinhking the same way?
Let us help the schools become what the founders had in mind when they were established. What will schools like Wesley Girls, Achimota and the likes be without the help of the Associations? It is these associations that make the school and the only way to make the schools better is by getting wards of the Old girls/boys into the schools so that financial & material support will keep going into the schools. After all, the government says publicly that they cannot run the schools single handedly and therefore needs the support of all.
Thank you.
hi kojo, guess we have heard all about the joy bridal fair, unfortunately, there is nothing to show on your website especially 10 clear days to the event. gues we all dont have access to radio sets or computers with speakers to listen to the online audio. lets see some remedy, and have a great day. chaoo
I STRONGLY DISAGREE WITH BEN, HIS ARGUMENT IS ON “IF” . I VOTED FOR NPP BUT I HAVE STILL NOT CHANGED MY MIND.
READ ME !READ ME!
Kojo, since we share the same name i’ll be easy on you. We the love to party and Bachelors association are jus wondering “WHATS HAPPENING TO OUR OLD SCHOOL REUNION” . For the past 3 weeks all have heard is about the Bridal fair.

Hi Kojo, lots of the time we hear politicians talking about making a better Ghana when voted into power, my question is if they know all these problems why then wait to be President to do all the things they are promising? Now a days the youth of today have device thier own ways of donig things to survive. In what way are the talent of the youth been tapped to progress the economy beacuse i think just as they are able to device these ways to do thing for them selves they can equally be task to under take a national projects, who knows may be the next Bill Gate or Neil Amstrong is amongst as and we are doing nothing to tap these rich Ghanaian talents. Most at times i wish to express my veiws on air but am constraint by my budget. I hope these means my opinion will be considered. I am a strong believer of Ghana and i will do any thing in my power to uphold the Good name of Ghana so help me God.
Hi Kojo, good morning. The week has ended nicely without giving us food for thought. At least an assignment which will make all of us decide well not cast our vote for anyone simply we need president.Let examine the life style of each candidate who truly want to show quality leadership.Leadership which is humble and moderate in spending. President Kuffour luxury life style has to the domain of Ghanaian commmunity of his excessive spending.Where on the earth would hungry person spend his money on medals? Someone should tell me if the President does not see himself as emperor of Ghana and Africa ‘50 cent’? Nkrumah`s Ghana is in hands of wrong, corrupt and lack of vision leaders.God save us.
hi kojo,
i’m a great fun who is on a visit to the US and i must commend you guys for the great job you are doing. i was extremely surprised to find my brother-in-law up at 1:00am US time, listening to the morning show.
i had a good laugh because he asked me what the dansoman roads had turned into-as you kept saying drivers play oware on the road.i remarked that on the ashongman road, i rather play ’snake’! ! !
have a great day and more grease to your elbow
Kojo please can you place the audio recordings of July 10 and 11on the audio on demand list.Good work man.
what up kojo! is it not ON this year? charlie! are have been warming ourselves to make a booom blast at the joy fm old skuuuls reunion this time round. This show you know is the first and the best in west africa.kojo please speck the date, ketabuscans are listening.
I guess we are tired of hearing the empty promises politicians make to Ghanaians. I live in an area where all streets but mine have received some level of improvement thus making it motorable. Well, there were two of them until a minister living in the area lost his daughter. My dad took it upon himself to find out why only sections of the area had gutters constructed and roads rehabilitated and the response was not encouraging. I’d want to ask of the candidates what measures they’d put in place to ensure fair and equitable distribution of the National cake and how they are going to ensure that government officials expand their thinking to the people instead of narrowing it on their immediate family and needs?

hi, why has joy fm deliberately denied us the ardent listeners any reggae slot on your line up close years i can hardly count? is the policy of the station or you cant simply get someone competent enough to fill the big shoe Culture B left? answers are needed pleeeeeeeaaaassssssse
kojo, infact you are gradually rising through the ranks and i pronise you will be a force to recon with in no time.Even now i can classify you as a kinpin. keep up the good work, heaven is the limit.
Gernuely speaking i think the Prez award have been cheapen taking into consideration the fact that most ministers of state, media personalities whoi classify as praise singers, etc without taking into conmnsideration their work output to find out if they merit the award or not. It is also a disappointment that the one awarding is also a recepient of the highest award he has created for himself andbeing a hypocriate, he has attached the Ex Prez who he has described as a murderer, thief, and a failure. so is the prez tellingGhanaians that the highest award could go to a failure? he should give us a break. No wondergurus like K.B Asante, who is a recipient and a Politicakl Science scholar, mr Ahiawodo have rubbished it. Samuel okudzeto ablakwa has written a master piece in the Chronicle on Page 5 and it is a “must read” article. Kojo, go high, Philipa Baafi’s song is for you.
TAYLAW OF THE STEADMAN GROUP
Kojo, where is Ato Kwamina, I hope he has also not suffered from the marriage syndrome and chickened out of the Newspaper Review.
HI KOJO,

Kojo, politcics ;is it a profession,a career or a hobby?
Hi Kojo, hope u are doing fine. Three days ago, you spoke about a new phone in town and some of its features. Pls how can one get it? Is it already on the market? Keep up the good work.
Pls congratulate all the inmates of Legon Hall L8 who just completed Irene, Nina, Lizzy, Rita and Eunice wishing them all the best. Thanks.
Kojo how are you doing?
Are our public universities offering latest theories and handouts based on recent researches?
It seems they reproduce the same notes that were given to them back in the 1970s to todays students and the students too reproduce them during exams because, mind you if you dare produce anything different from what the lecturer is used to and know already you have yourself to blame, because he will not find time to make references to prove or disprove what the staudent produced during the exams.
Their excuse is always that they are marking thousands of scripts and cannot spend much time on an individual’s research.
Kojo what do we do?
I was in the same class with you at UCC B.COM.
Thanks

your station is doing very well in sports commentaries especially your man who comments from kpando whenever hearts of lions is playing in kpando.i suggest when ever there is no match in kpando he should be given a match center.kindly give his contact if possible .
I want to say something regarding the Tsatsu case. The comments are bereft of any sense. The focus appears to be on the contention that Tsatsu is a legal luminary-one of the finest brain in Ghana and therefore he does no wrong. It is as if, ipso facto, the man can not commit a crime, or be culpable for some wrong doing. It is almost as if they are deifying Tsatsu. Tsatsu is intelligent and is therefore infallible because he is intelligent. What crass argument is this!!!.
Let me hasten to add that the man however deserves to be heard in a court and he is entiltled to exhaust the legal process in defence of his rights.
To proceed, I would rather we focused on whether or not the man acted ultra vires the objects of GNPC. How can public officials gain by way of education from this case; what lessons can the nation glean from this case; and what is the best practice going forward. To my mind the issue as to the viability or otherwise of Valley Farms is extraneous to the fundamental issue of corporate governace and ultra vires principle that appeared to have been compromised.
Our problem as apeople is that we confuse erudition with wisdom and honesty.
We need honest leaders who can stand for the national interest not necessarily some body who is eloquent and, at all material times, would act dishonestly and try to explain away their dishonesty intelligently.
I am very cynical about the political elite. It is completely wretched scum of political actors rabidly pursuing its interests which are completely at variance with the national interest. Expect more political chess games. A pardon from Kuffour to reconcile the two factions of the same political elite. No principle, no rule of law, just plain political maneuvering to protect their personal interests.
Thank you.
Hi LP Kojo i love your program very much and believe me i listen to it especially the 6am news as well as the news paper reviews before getting out of bed. About the issue of manifesto, kojo lets not waste our time ok. this pple get to power and they forget all the promised to do. For me i do not trust any of them anymore. I just look up to God for survival cos none of these pple know what they are talking about. They are all BIG LIARS.
Take care and carry on with the good work. Love you and Love JOY.
hi Kojo, l want to wish my girlfriend Gifty Adoley Allotey a happy birthday, may the Almighty Father protect and keep her for me, l truly love her.
The above inscription is boldly presented on every billboard presenting Prof Mills to Ghanaians.
——————————————————————————–
Having thought through the inscription, I have now come to the understanding that THE PRESENT GOVERNMENT OF NPP, under his able leadership PRESIDENT JOHN AGYEKUM KUFFOUR, has moved Ghana from THE VERY BAD SITUATION they met when they asumed power to A BETTER GHANA , which Pof Mills sees himself as the BETTER MAN to rule The BETTER GHANA.
——————————————————————————–
this suggest that Prof Mills has accepted the assertion that Ghana is BETTER NOW than the NDC time so therefore having realised that the Country is now BETTER , HE thinks he is the BETTER MAN for the createt BETTER GHANA, WHICH NPP has built.
——————————————————————————–
I entreat everyone to VOTE MASSIVELY FOR NPP , to continue doing their GOOD WORKS - including Sound economy, Introduction of National Health Insurance Scheme, School Feeding Programme , Capitation Grant etc.
——————————————————————————–
Thanks to All
you always make my day. keep it up. kojo.
kojo the beggars and mad people are just too many on our roads can’t the AMA do anything about this?
Hi Kojo
HAJIA ALIMA MAHAMA THE RIGHT CANDIDATE FOR VICE PRESIDENT
Sir, permit me an opportunity to espouse some very interesting reasons why the selection of Alima Mahama, the Honorable Minister for Women and Children’s Affairs as a running mate to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo could be the panacea for yet another NPP victory in December, 2008. The selection of any person for this position should be based on merit (acumen of knowledge and experiences needed for the transformation of the country) and not any other factor(s). This notion I believe is the fundamental reason for wanting to support a candidate for the position of vice president.
It is worthy of note that the selection of a running-mate is dependent on some critical factors which include among others; regional balance, academic qualification, gender, religious balance, experiences in both private and socio-political life. Notwithstanding the above factors, there some other factors which to a greater extent play a significant role in the selection of a candidate. Among these factors are; the accessibility of the person, relationship with the local constituency, the discharge of responsibilities in public life and good working relationship with the flagbearer.
By choosing a woman the NPP will be making history and harnessing the abundant energy of the female populace toward an electoral victory in December.
Hajia Alima Mahama appeals to both Muslims and Christians having worked with the Christian Council as the Northern Ghana’s Coordinator for training the trainers for church NGO’s project on the development of women. She also has association with NGO’s and women groups all over the country which is a great advantage when chosen.
Hajia Alima decided to contest the Parliamentary Elections on NPP ticket. The Party presented her un-opposed in 2000 ,2004 and for Decembers election. She is the sitting MP for Nalerigu/Gamaga, arguably with one of the most conservative electorate where her apparent achilles heel of being a divorced mother has not affected her in any way whatsoever.
Hon. Alima Mahama has the executive experience, which is a critical selection criteria. She has distinguished herself excellently in the discharge of her duties as a sector minister. What is most interesting is the execution of the concept of gender budgeting under her leadership. This will help shape core government policy. She has legislative experience, having represented her constituency since 2004. She has been able to consolidate the support base of the NPP in her area and beyond.
She is a lawyer of high pedigree and has distinguished herself in private practice. The issue of regional balance is addressed when Hon. Alima is selected. As a respected Muslim, she also embodies the need for religious balance.
A look at the figures from the last population and housing census indicate that women constitute 53% of the population of Ghana, yet when it comes to leadership we are quick to relegate them to the back. This is the time to make history and tap into the rich organizational skills and votes of the women of Ghana.
Hajia Alima Mahama was born on the 17th November, 1957 to Mr. Mahama
Tampurie then a United Party Member of Parliament for Waelewale, Now
deceased, and Hajia Azara Bonyan Sugri Natia from Duusi,Talensi/ Nabdam
District in the Upper East Region. She is of the royal house of “Yiri kpani” (literally meaning house of the spear).
Hajia Alima’s father was a member of Parliament the Northern Peoples Party
that later linked up with National Liberation Movement and others to
form the United Party. He was a UP Member of Parliament when
Ghana attained independence. His colleague both in school and
Paliament was H.E. C.K. Tedam, Member of Council of State. Mr. Mahama Tampurie campaign actively for the Progress Party and supported both Mr. Banyansi and Lawyer Saka to win the Nalerigu and Walewale constituencies.
The grass root supporters of this great Party of ours who are women are waiting for the wise consideration of Hon. Alima, because they have said “IT IS OUR TIME”. Such decisions have been done in the NPP in the past and we pray Nana Addo to do same. This I believe will give much to our cherished mothers.
Kojo, i admire you alot and want to be like you. how can I become a good presentor like you. please show me the first step to take. as at now am a adm. secretary and want to add presentation to it . help me to achive my dream.

Hi Kojo I am an ardent fun of your station and a regular viewer of ur blog. But it appears over the last few days, the site has been dormant, What’s up. Are u tied of posting new mails?

kojo,
we are in the world of technology and sms has become the other of the day all institutions are doing it.
could some one alert them to tell us the cost of sending per sms
check up from those we are learning from.they specify the cost why cant we also do it here in Ghana.
kojo
i want to ask atta mills why he is not controlling and educating his serial callers on the issues and the truth in them and even people like fiife, tony adu, aunty ama, baaba jamal and others have reduced themselves to public redicle with liars which they cannot in any way defend themselves.
i want them to know that this years elections will be based on issues and how they conducted themselves when the ruled us comparing to the ruling gov’t. ghanaians as we are, are decending people they must not forget.
you don’t go stand in tamale and promise them renovation of their airport, when indeed the airport has been renovated and even the south african airways landed there during the african nations cup.
i really pitty the NDC bcos they have lost the election allready having their flagbearer conciding defeat by calling Nana Addo everyday to say “hey don’t worry we are just adding to the numbers but please tell papa Kuffour to give the award to me as my retirement benefit from politics”.
Goodmornng Kojo,
Are we serious in Ghana at all? Do we really want this our beloved Country to survive and advance?
Well Graduate Students in Ghana till date have not received their bursaries which is supposed to help support in any way their post-graduate studies.
Even as at now, the is no word from the scholarship secretariat as well as from GETFUND. The Graduate Students Association of Ghana ( GRASAG) have done all that it can, but to no avail
Today funds that were suppose to be used for educational purposes is now allegedly being used for National Youth Employment Programme and also for the CAN 2008
Where lies away priorities as a nation.
School vacates in a week or two and yet no word about our bursaries. Somebody must do something
God Save Graduate Studies, God save Ghana
as a student who is waiting for her result, wanting to enter the school of journalism, what is she suppose to do.is journalism for peopple who can talk or who are not shy.please help me so that i can get contact with some journalist at your studio. i would be very glad if you can help me and GOD would bless you.
kojo you are too hansome and i wish to see you one of this days personally.I really want to know the reason behind Allan Cash’s decission to live the NPP and why he didnt live them.i dont understand politics in ghana.is it all about insults and aggressiveness or development.am getting a wrong picture from our great men(leaders)i mean no good example for we the young ones to follow.i really dont enjoy listening to this speak ur mind on the radio, sometimes when the floor is given for people to speak their mind they turns to abuse. All u hear is insults and not anything good sugestion on how we can solve the major problems facing us.Kojo if you can agree with me there people in this country who have got great ideis but to come with it is another kind of wahala.instead of helping Ghana as awhole they involve politics, this is the main reason why we are not moving forward.we are full of greedinee and always blaming people for our misfortunes.we should look for ways of solving it instead of putting blames of Government.the government is all of us so we all should help ghana to go forward.
I will like u to ask the presidential candidates on moral issues. for example, gay marriages and rights, abortion, prostitution and the like. these moral issues will inform us in our judgements of the leaders seeking our mandate to rule. thanks
kojo, why do you think the president sacked kwamena bartels?
There is this growing phenominum which if not check will lead to so many problems in this country. I remember asking you the question, whose job is it to regulate the mounting of loud speakers (So-called information centres) on our streets and neighbourhoods? I over heard the EPA just recently saying that the noise we make whether with our mouth or by machines have a serious effect on our health. If that is the case, why have they allow people to mount loud speakers in our communities just to link up to Fm stations? Are there not laws that guide the level of our noise making? One interesting thing about this issue is that radio stations who are surposed to know better are rather encouraging people to establish this so-called information centres. You will hear them acknowledging them especially during news time. I can say with confidence that every househood in this country no matter how poor they are have a small radio in their house to listen to a radio station of their choice. Why should somebody mount a loud speaker to tune in to a particulars radio station just to disturb other people in the communty? Another craze is the selling of products on moving vans with music at the background. They are more than a neusance to our communities. If what the EPA have said is true, then am calling on them to see to it that the practice is stopped with immediate effect and even if it is not true, it is said that where somebody’s rights ends, another person’s begins there. If you have you radio or information centre, know the range at which its surposed to operate. It should not operate beyond the walls or your house. Nobody can compel another person to listen to a radio station of his or her choice.
Kojo, how refreshing it was not hearing the voice of Kobby Acheampong last Saturday on Newsfile. The discussion was very very civil. I wonder why Joy FM keeps on inviting him to the programme. After lying about the President’s house he has no sense of shame and still comes to Joy. I wish he is kept out forever.
Kojo, I want to ask Ghanaians via your show if they think given our attitude and mindset our dream of attaining a middle income status can be a reality. I’m an optimist and I believe in Ghana but sometimes I want to side with one of my lectures who think our dream is just a tantalising mirage. Until we change what is inside, we cannot change what is outside
Hello Kojo,
I read an interesting written summary testimony of Bill Gates before the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions on March 7, 2007. It is titled “Nation of Innovators” and I would love it, if you could share with the whole of Ghana.
Source: http://www.microsoft.com/issues/essays/2007/03-07NationofInnovators.mspx
When it comes to innovation, the United States has much to be proud of. In many fields, achievements borne of American ingenuity and inventiveness have fueled unprecedented prosperity and improved the lives of people everywhere.
Today, however, looking at the nation’s competitiveness as an innovator, I feel not only pride, but also deep anxiety. Too often, we as a society are sacrificing the long-term good of our country for short-term gain. In too many areas, we are content to live off the investments that previous generations made for us — in education, health care, basic scientific research — but we are unwilling to invest equal energy and resources in building on this legacy and ensuring that America’s future is as bright and prosperous as its present.
Our nation simply cannot continue along this course. We must invest now to secure our economic and technological leadership for the future. In my view, we will lose this leadership unless we take three important steps.
First, we must ensure that America’s students and workers have the skills to compete in a digital economy. We must provide them with the necessary educational opportunities and resources. Our top priorities should be to reverse our dismal high school graduation rates — with a target of doubling the number of young people who graduate from high school ready for college, career, and life — and to place a major emphasis on encouraging careers in math and science. Both the public and private sectors have a responsibility to ensure that workers have access to training programs that help them upgrade the skills they need in today’s digital economy.
Second, we need to attract and retain the brightest, most talented people from around the world. This will not happen until we reform our immigration policies for highly skilled workers. America should be doing all it can to attract the world’s best and brightest, who can help us create more jobs and prosperity. Instead, we are shutting them out and discouraging those already here from staying.
Third, we need to provide a foundation for innovation by investing in ideas and capturing their value. The public sector in particular needs to continue to increase investments in research and development, especially in basic science, to complement private sector R&D and to address new challenges. The R&D tax credit needs to be made permanent. We also need to ensure that the patent system continues to provide the legal framework that rewards innovation.
Frankly, we have not been the careful stewards of our own “innovation account” that our children and grandchildren have a right to expect us to be. It is time to get back in shape and revisit our game plan. I recognize that this will take strong political will and courageous leadership. But if we succeed, I firmly believe our efforts will pay rich dividends for our nation’s next generation.
So what is Ghana doing about our children, Youth etc…
Thank you.
God Bless
Kojo,
Let me tell you a story,
Once upon a time, in east london a bridge was built by Abramnovich, it was made from the woods of Lampard, Terry, Essien, Drogba & Joe Cole, and fortified with Grant, Kaluo and Anelka. They painted it Blue and named it Standford Bridge.
It was so majestic that it sustained a FA Cup and a League Cup, but on 21/05/008. they decided to extend all the way to Moscow, it went quite well but they forgot to take care of that one TNT painted RED in the name of Sir Alex Ferguson, it so it went up in flames and what a big Blast That was!!
OSSeeeeeeeeeeee Man U.

Personally, I really enjoy your super morning show and I feel your program is the best to reveal this program to the public domain
WHY???
Why should leaders of Political Parties want to be part of Students Polities?
I ask this because as it did happen in UDS and KNUST, it has on Legon campus to the extent that students who were arrested and send to the Legon Police Station for multiply voting in elections of the SRC on last Friday 15 May, 2008,were Realized on the orders of “someone in authority’ presumably from Ghanas’ Parliament.
In addition the candidate who was found to be culpable has fill a writ at the countries highest court against the EC of Legon?
my question is whoever is behind joshua would be shamed.
MY QUESTION TO THE CANDIDATES IS SIMPLY: WILL THERE EVER BE A LOAD SHEDDING IN THE COUNTRY AGAIN? IF NEVER, WHAT HAVE THEY DONE OR ARE DOING TO ENSURE THAT? I WANT PRACTICAL ANSWERS
I think is time for our leaders to trasform our current syllubi in our univ’s in order to really equip the country with reformers instead of the frustrated graduates passing out each year.WHAT IS GHANA WITHOUT THE SKILLED MEN?
I would like to find out from our Presidential candidates whether or not if they are elected, will cut down,to a significant number, the number of ministers and government officials in the public service.I am much concerned about this issue because of the fact that it cost the nation huge sums of money to take care of our ministers and other public officials. And so far their activities have not help our course. Thank you
Kojo, ‘m very worried about the water rate that comes to our home. Our taps were closed for more than 2weeks and they opened it on 1 weekend and it was closed again. So, it came for only 2weekends within the month and our bill is 348,000 cedis. WHY?If not b’cos of the rains, like we wouldn’t know what to do. Pls, help me.
There is an Alan Kyeranmanteng’s bill board around Shiashie can he please take it away from that place since the flagbearerships elections are over?.
Good Morning Ghana
Name, until we believe in ourselves, any foreign coach will not yield any results… please lets believe in ourselves, yes! ourselves now! We wish Le-Roy the best in his future encounters. A typical Ghnanian coach can do the The Black Star’s job. Kwesi and his men at GFA should think Ghana and not individual interest. Thanks
Please Kojo the Premier University is engulfed in weeds, especially bungalows behind the UPS. Could you call the authorities and ask them what the problem is
as the situation is affecting the security in the area.
Hi Kojo,
i will like to ask all the presidential candidates on what they are doing about our education especially when the SHS leavers have to stay in the house for one year continuing to the tertiary level.
Kojo, why is NPP trying to beat their own drums. Why are they playing the “Gongon” beating game. A good leader doesn’t need to go and tell his subordinates how good he was as a leader because the subordinates know exactly how he led them. Ghanaians have been in this country for all these years both under NDC and NPP and we are aware of the Good, Bad and Evil of the NDC and the Good, Bad and Evil of the NPP. They are behaving as if the Ghanaian was dump and blind who has just been miraculously healed today so must be told what was happening when he could not hear and see. Next time they want to organize such press conference, they should go and do it in the diaspora because they are not in the country to see what was and is going on
KOJO,
DO OUR TRADITIONAL CHIEFS HAVE THE RIGHT TO BANISH ANYONE FROM THE COMMUNITY?
Kojo, it’s wonderful coming from work every evening to listen to Dzifa Bampoe’s presentation of news night on Joy (via Luv). Please tell her she is great and should keep up the objectiveness she displays. I wish i can see her facially through the radio. By the way, is she married?
Could you get the Greater Accra Regional Minister to tell what he has done about the filt in the city for the pass 7 and half years he has been in office.
We should not blame AMA alone.
INDEPENDENT ARCH AREA - PLEASE FOLLOW THIS ISSUE
Hi Kojo,
I would be very pleased if you can get those responsible to comment on this serious issue before something happened.
I am sure you have passed by the Independent arch recently.
Its really dangerous when driving around this area because of the short wall constructed during the Ghana @ 50. It’s really dificult to see any car from the opposite direction which in my view can cause accident.
The appropriate authority must remove it or have another look at the design. Please get them into your studio so we can ask them some questions
Some cars had already driven into these walls.
Please help me resolve this issue before something happens.
Thank you.
Walter.
kojo, i think ben should give us a break on his openion poll.ghanaians are now wise up and we know our selves the party we think is going to win the 2008 election.we’ve tasted and both npp and ndc and for me as an individual i think ndc stands tall.the 2 johns are our savior come december election.npp has nothing again to offer us,we dont need any chapter 3.long live NDC.
Kojo, could you please check for me the Institution responsible for our roads. Am asking because it seems know one cares.
A ride on the road from Malam Junction to Kasoa seem to have a lot of sand on it after it rains and know one care. This also makes driving on it difficult since other users are at risk because the divers turn to dodge the sand there by may ran into an on coming car.
Secondary, the road from Kasoa through Bojiawsi to Agona Swedru is in a very bad state with ‘man holes’ on the road and would you to bring this to the notice of authorities concern. In addition on the same road the people of Jei Kroduia have constructed make shift speed ramps and this is destroying the surface of the road so please do ask those concern through your medium to check this behavior.
Finally, still on roads, I will like to raise this issue once more. Thus, the nature of roads within the Agona Municipal Assembly and that of the newly created district, Agona East District Assembly are very bad, yet we have Highways within the district and no minor repairs are done so this have left most of the roads with Big Pot Holes in the and if something is not done quickly, when something happened I hope those concern will take the blame and not pass it on to any body. Keep the good work.
MY PROBLEM IS THAT, MINISTERS OF STATE AND DISTRICT ,MUNICIPAL AND METROPOLITAN CHIEF EXECUTIVE WHO ARE VIEYING FOR THE POSITION OF MP’ s SHOULD ALL RESIGN COS THEY ARE LOOTING NATIONAL COFFERS FOR THIER CAMPAINGN .AND ALSO USING THIER INCUMBENCY TO INFLUENCE THE LOCAL PEOPLE TO SEE ALL STATE ASSETS AS THIER PARTIES ACHIEVEMENT. OUR LAWS SHOUL;D BE STRICTLY INFORCED.GABRIEL FROM WA. UPPER WEST
kojo i don’t know why the roads in Gbawe and it environs are soo bad and no one seems to be bothered. Can u please contact the Department of Urban Roads and ask them why they have abandon how area roads. we are suffering and our cars are getting bad each day.
Tell me mom i can never stop loving her………
Kojo, there few people that i trust in Ghana and you happen to be one of them. there is a very sensitive and serious corruption going on at the ACCOUNTANT GENERALS DEPARTMENT. For your information, some workers at the place are amassing wealth at the expense of the poor tax payer. What they do is they the send information to schools through their ILLEGAL AGENTS (who are also teachers) for teachers to put down their names so that they can enjoy TAX RELIEF on their income. The subsequent month you see 120 Ghana Cedis as tax relief on your pay slip. the next information you gets is that you are suppose to pay 70 Ghana Cedis out of the 120 Ghana Cedis to the connection people through the teacher agent or have your salary blocked unexpectedly or they will find their own way of unlawfully deducting it from your income. Kojo they told me but I did not believe it, I wanted to experience it myself. Now it has happened. Believe me I have every information concerning the issue. Kojo trust me people are chopping Ghana money. In a school of about 30 teachers you have not less than 25 paying 70 Ghana Cedis illegally to those workers at the controller which i think it is criminal by all standards. I will be available for any further information that can assist in following the issue. Thank from NEWMAN.
Kojo, I think Ghanaians are just misconstruing what Dr John Mahama said. I am not an NDC, NPP nor any partyman. But I think Ghana deserves a good development which could only be possible by focusing on the future. Though the past cannot be ignored totally, I believe focusing on the past cannot move us forward to where we want to be in the next 10, 20, or 50 years. The past can never be changed but if you are proactive, you can change the future. Ghanaians need to look into the future and stop playing the blame game. We should not allow these stomach politicians to divert our attention from what they have to offer us in the future. If I am hungry today, I will be more happy if I had a dream about what to do the tomorrow to get some food to eat than having a dream about the agony I was going through whiles hungry.
Ghanaians, let’s wake up to change our future. Let’s vote for who we think can give us a better Ghana. Both NDC and NPP have stains in their clothes so the question now is who give us a better future than what we have now?
Thanks and God Bless the Endowed Ghana
KOJO, helena’s story to her mum was indeed touching it drove me to tears,a colleague at the office had to greet me three times,to catch my attention.
Hi Kojo, I will like to know from the NDC whether their rebranding also includes rebranding of their violent nature? Their violent nature was displayed on Crossfire on Wednesday between Dr. Tony Aidoo and Ibrahim Adjei. It was really disgusting. Shame on you Dr. Tony Aidoo. You are really a character.
Kojo,three things that should be implemented in this years campaign and which voter’s will have to watch are;
1-the drug matter
2-jobs
3-economy
these are issues that will have to be debated dispassionately and unpoliticised.
the media has to set the agenda for the election and not the politicians;they will only accuse eachother of what this one did and did not do.
hi kojo,
do you remember i once sent you a message about the high rate of poverty in the three norther regions? you told me you and yyour team were planning to visit the north but i have not heard anything on that since i am a regular listener of the supermorning show. i would like to go with you when you are going.
please try as much as possoible and visit the north and see what is happening there to see wether our pliticians care about the people.
mahmoud
Kojo, i just want to ask you why you have not read my mail i sent to you on why mother’s day should not be celebrated by Christians..
Kojo, i think you are depriving your listeners from hearing such a vital information that i have to tell them..
in fact i do understand that it may go along way to affect joy fm in terms of your revenue but kojo this is vital information that is meant to educate the general Ghanaian society and the world at large.
in case you would want more information on this subject feel free to contact me
Hi Kojo,
I want to find out from Accountant General why so much is deducted as tax from teachers salaries? My mum has worked for the Ghana Education Service over 30 years and her salary is nothing to write home about. That is why l never get interested working for the Civil Service because it is frustrating and causes people to cheat and bend the rules. I work in the private sector and nothing will cause me to change my mind since l have been working for 7 years now but earns more than my mum.
Please ask them what is going on because my mum complains anytime the month ends and salaries are paid. I do not remember such things happening when the NDC was in power. Or maybe l will have to vote for Paa Kwesi Nduom and see what he can also bring on board because we are tired of this current government and their excuses for just about everything.
This time round, it will be “shwe wa sitinamu na tu aba pa”.
Thank you and God bless you.
Kojo,i read the the story about the trade and industry Minister and i bet to differ if the Honourable mininster has really regretted the misdemeanour he displayed to Ghanaians and childrens as a whole,am saying this because i read from the way he is speaking that,he is still making a point on why he behaved the way he did,am appealing to the president to look into the issue because it is not good for our young democracy,i think he must be relieved of his duty, thanks
hi kojo,
did i hear the ndc say the ‘new ndc’? we are tired of these politicians. what new have they learnt in opposition? is it the hardship or the heat they are now feeling?
they should give us a break. Is it not the same atta mills, john mahama, goosie tano that we knew back in the 90’s?
A DECORATED MONKEY IS STILL A MONKEY.
Please let us find out from Ghana High Authority their plan for the Accra Beach Road especially from Next Door to Nungua Barrier. The road is damage to the extent that vehicles using that rout has to drive on the road shoulders. They should come to our aid on time.
kwesi pratt is a big liar.all civil servants especially GES employees had to wait for about six months and sometimes over to receive their first salary.this has been the practice even before 1992.
Atsu(Ho, V/R)
I’d like the NPP to tell us Ghanaians one truth. How much TOR debt did they inherit; how much has been paid because we were made aware Ghanaians needed to pay realistic fuel prices to clear that debt.
How much is the debt as at now.
kojo, what about those of us who have lost our mothers, can we participate in this promotion and all the promtions being organised by the super station?
ARM ROBBERY AND INSECURITY IN GHANA:
KOJO–
Yesterday four arm robbers attacked two houses in Nungua (Notica College Road) at around 1am. They were shooting sporadically into the air for several hours. In one of the houses they attacked a pregnant woman and extorted all the cash she had on her at gun point. They threatened to rape a teenage girl who was with her if she did not give them more money. By Gods grace the girl was not raped and no one was hurt. Only God knows what could have happened to the old pregnant woman (almost 9 months old) at that point in time.
According to friends of the victims, before the arm robbers managed to break into their house they called a police officer on phone who alerted the Nungua police but they arrived late. Later in teh day after the victims had made their statements to the police the police did not act timeously to gather the necessary evidence they may need in their investigation. Instead, they asked the victims to pay money to secure an expert to take fingerprints at the crime scene.
How can we fight crime when our police continue to behave this way? We need to prioritize the security issue in our developmental agenda because without peace and security we cannot have any meaningful development.
Police should stop extorting money from trotro drivers and go after the arm robbers. They owe this duty to themselves and to Ghanaians as a whole. If they fail to do this, who knows the next victim might be their close relations, themselves, a minister of state or even the president. May God give our government the WILL to fight this arm robbery.

Kojo there are rumours Ato is getting married, when ?

why Ato’s name is not in your team at morning show site
